About Gabi
Gabi’s path to sports acupuncture was shaped by her life as a competitive athlete. As a former professional soccer player for the Puerto Rican Women’s National Team, she developed a deep respect for the body’s strength, resilience, and capacity to heal, which continues to inform her work with patients today.
Gabi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College. She is a California-licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and Chinese herbalist, and a nationally-certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM Dipl. O.M.).
To deepen her expertise in sports medicine, Gabi completed the Whitfield Reaves Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship and mentored under Dr. Jenny Nieters, acupuncturist for the SF 49ers. She then became certified in both orthopedic and pelvic floor dry needling, expanding her ability to treat pain and injury throughout the body so that her patients stay active for the long-run. In addition to her sports medicine work, Gabi has extensive facial acupuncture training and achieves great results treating facial concerns, jaw pain/TMJ/TMD, and neck tension, which is especially prevalent with computer and smartphone use.
When she’s not in the clinic, Gabi can be found on the soccer field, chasing adventures outdoors with her two kids, or in search of the best decaf latte and scone around.
